My family

Hello. I want to introduce about my family. There are six people in my family. The member is father, mother, grandmother, two brothers and I. My father works at bank. He was very stern in old days. But now, he is very kind. I heard from him, he played volleyball when he was a high school student. He worked in the Self-defence Forces until a few days ago. And, he stopped the work because of retirement at the age limit. And, he played rugby when he worked there. My mother is 50 years old. Her hobby is massage. Also, her job is massage. She is good at cooking. Her dish is very delicious. I live in dormitory. So, I can’t eat her dish. I sometimes want to eat it. When I go to parents’ house, I am looking forward to it. My grandmother is 90 years old next birthday. Her birthday is Valentine’s day. It is easy for me to learn. Every year my family and the relatives who live near her house celebrate her birthday. It is very fun. We and our cousins like her. So, we want her lives longer. I have two brothers. They are older than I. They are university student. The biggest older brother go to Oita university.  Oita is in Kyusyu. There are many hot spring. And it is very famous about it in Japan. He lives alone. I have been to his house. He is 21 years old. He learns economics. The second older brother go to Ryukyu university. It is in Okinawa. It is very beautiful place. He goes back Parents’ house only once or twice in a year. Because it is very far. So, I can’t meet him only once or twice in a year. He is 20 years old. He lives in school’s dormitory. They are very kind. My parents’ house is in Nagasaki. There are Park of Peace. It was made to condole with the person who was not an atom bomb. There are many reasons about it. It is place that there are many history. I like my family. My family tradition is going to for a New Year’s visit to a Shinto shrine. There are many relatives in my family. So, every new year holidays are very fun and turnout. After we finish new year’s visit to a Shinto shrine, we eat delicious food. Also, we can get a new year’s present from my parents, grandmother, aunt and uncle. We are very happy. Then, we can meet many relatives who can’t meet frequently. For example, my brothers and relatives who live in far place. So, I am looking forward to going to parents’ house this new year.  Another tradition is celebrating of my grandmother’s birthday. Some people come back to her house. Some people call her to say that congratulation to her. And, some people give her present. I think that she is surely happy. Until last year, I can celebrate at my parents’ house. Because I live in it. But, I live in another place now. So, I think that I will call her.

  1. New Year's celebration at your house sounds like a lot of fun! It must be nice seeing all your relatives again, especially since you also now live away from your family. New Year's in America is not a very interesting holiday, unfortunately; I think I would prefer to celebrate New Year's in Japan!
