My favorite things.

 Hello!
My name is Yukie.I'm university of Shimane's student.

My hometown is Shikokuchuo city of Ehime. Ehime is very good place. There is hot spring. It is good for health. And Ehime is famous for mandarin. I love  Ehime's sweet mandarin.

Ehime's mandarin
Shikokuchuo city is famous for paper products. For example, tissue and toilet paper and so on. It is very small city, but people are very kind and the city has old history.

My hobby is reading and cooking. Especially I like mystery. But, I want to read another kind. So,please tell me interesting books!
I often cook. I like cooking, but I'm not good at it. Cooking is very difficult! But I think that cooking is very important for health. Japanese food is very healthy. My favorite healthy Japanese food is natto. Do you know natto? It has very strange taste and smell. The more you stir natto, the more sticky it becomes. But I love it! I eat it every day. Please eat it once. And please tell me interesting food of your country!

I want to challenge various things. And I want to do my best this blog. I want to be good friends with you all!

  1. Hello Yukie, it's very nice to meet you! My name is Lindsey.

Your blog post was adorable and I enjoyed reading it. I also enjoy sweet mandarins; in America, we call them "Cuties".

I would recommend a book called "Out", by Natsuo Kirino. I read the book in English but it was originally written in Japanese. It is a rather dark and scary book but you may find it enjoyable.

I've never tried natto, but in America it's not really considered a delicacy. My grandma loves to eat it but I think it's an acquired taste (you have to eat it as a child to enjoy it later.) I like Japanese food as well, but if you ever go to America, I recommend trying Vietnamese pho, Chinese dim sum, Italian pasta, and American steak! One of my favorite things about America is that we have a wide diversity of food. Everyone knows that Americans love food!

    It's nice talking to you!

  2. Your hometown sounds very nice. I wouldn't mind visiting it one day!:-) Here in Washington we are known for our berries, such as blueberries and strawberries. Since we have such cold and foggy weather year-round we are able to produce a variety of produce. I saw that you like to read and I would like to recommend "The Fountainhead" by Ayn Rand. The author incorporates philosophical ideas, the American financial-class system, architecture, and romance. I found it interesting I hope you do too! I have heard of natto, but I have yet to try it. I will look for it in our grocery stores so I can try it. I will say that the burger can be called an American dish, but since we have so many diverse cultures here in the U.S.we have a huge variety of food available to us.

  3. Hi Yukie! One day I want to visit Shikokuchuo! It sounds nice! I love mandarines! I love that you like mystery books! I do too. Some books you should try to read, that aren't mystery books, are the Mortal Instruments books, Slaughterhouse-Five (mind-blowing), and Unicorns vs. Zombies (funny).

Natto is really good once you get past the smell! What is your favorite dish to cook? An interesting food from my country is Tchebougen. It's a dish where you cook red rice, It's very good! You should try it one day!

  4. Hi Yukie, my name is Kea. I also like to read and cook! Have you ever tried to cook American food before? I've made some Japanese food, like udon and donburi. My favorite thing to cook though is pasta. I also like baking cupcakes and cookies.

I would like to visit Ehime sometime, as I love mandarin oranges! My hometown is Davis, in the state of California. We grow a lot of tomatos there, but I don't like tomatos.

It was nice reading your introduction!
