Hello:) I am Kaho.
In this post, I would like to introduce you about my family tradition:D
In the end of the year, my family eats Sukiyaki, crab and cake in dinner. My family does this every year!! The end of the year is a special day. We eat these foods and pass the year.
All of my family loves Sukiyaki because we like beef!!! So Sukiyaki is a special dinner for my family :) And we also like crab!! Every year, my father's sister sends big crabs to us. We eat boiled crab, baked crab and crab's miso soup. There are very delicious:D After the dinner, we eat cake. In Japan, they usually eat it in Christmas. But this is my family tradition that we eat it in the end of the year.
Every new year, I go skiing and snow boarding with my brother and father:) This is also my family tradition. Near my home town, there is a big mountain; Daisen. We can ski and snow boarding there in winter!! I think I am not good at skiing but it is exciting! I love it:D Last year, I tried snow boarding but it was so difficult. I want to be good at snow boarding!!
How about you? Please tell me what is your family tradition??
Hi Kaho-san! Your traditions seem so cool! I think it is adorable your family enjoys a sport activity together as a family tradition during the New Year. >_< My family back in Mexico is very religious and since my mother and I are the only family members in the U.S. my family asks us to go to Mexico for our Catholic family traditions that occur every year. On Dec. 12th we honor the main saint of Mexico. From Dec 16 to Dec 24 we study the Bible, recreate the travels of Virgin Mary, and celebrate the birth of Jesus. Yes, I know this is a very religious tradition, but it's a fun tradition to keep doing every year. Then on Christmas Eve the entire neighborhood throws a HUGE party!
